The Masci group, which has been expert in technical coatings and surface treatments for more than 35 years, invests heavily in its asbestos dismantling and treatment activities, with the objective of increasing its share of the Group’s overall activity from 20% to 35%. Pierre Brzustowski, the new president of the Masci group since May 2016, intends to accelerate investments in this sector to bring more services and more technologies to key accounts that already trust the group’s expertise.

Latest generation clean room
Our ambition is to rely on the technologies used by all the departments of the group to find the most innovative and performing solutions of the moment.
To further extend the service, we have built a fixed installation in Richemont (57) to decontaminate asbestos-containing equipment, largely sized to meet the standards of today and tomorrow. The unit is a new generation clean room with the latest in vacuum control and control equipment, reducing dust levels and bringing them back to regulatory thresholds thanks to 36,000 m3 / h, or 60 times the total volume.
This outsourcing significantly reduces processing delays by combining the removal of elements in subsection 4 before processing in sub-section 3 in an industrialized context and outside the customer’s site. It also reduces costs and, above all, upgrades an average of 85% of non-asbestos materials (glass, aluminum, steel, etc.).
In a volume of 320 m3, this unit can accommodate parts of 10 to 100 tons to treat, for example window frames, motors or dam cofferdams, “says Xavier Wisniewski, director of the department.
